'Horse'

This is a ceramic horse, found at a car boot sale. The image aims to question the importance and value of the action of taking a photograph. Through embodying the subject in a photograph, the image poses the question: does the representation of the subject perhaps hold greater importance than the subject itself?

'Before the Jump'

This photo is from a series that I made of the East Berlin Swimming Team. For me this particular photo is especially interesting because it captures the tense relationship between the trainer and the diver who is about to jump and because of the tension between the adult patiently watching and the child about to plunge into the deep water, becomes a metaphor for the irreversible process of growing up.
