Organised by Whitechapel Gallery in partnership with Time Out, First Thursdays takes place on the first Thursday of every month with over 150 galleries and museums in east London coming together to run free events, exhibitions, talks and private views.

Set up in 1946, by Royal Charter, their goal is to champion and develop art and culture across the country, with governence by an Executive Board and National and Area Councils.
